Headaches
Headaches are something osteopaths see commonly. They can vary in their location, intensity and duration. Common types include tension-type headaches and migraines, although headaches can have many different causes.
Often headaches are associated with neck and shoulder pain, other times they are a result of stress, prolonged posture, or physical injury.
We as osteopaths would approach the headache differently depending on the cause. A patient's neck, upper back, shoulders, and surrounding muscles will present differently depending on a number of factors. It is our job to sort through this and give you an answer.
Treatment may include gentle hands-on techniques, soft-tissue treatment and advice aimed at improving mobility and reducing muscular tension to get you started. We will then give advice on long term management such as exercises, postural considerations, and lifestyle changes.
