Dry Needling

At Coyne Osteopathy, we offer dry needling in Cirencester as part of our tailored approach to reducing muscular pain and tension. While often compared to acupuncture, dry needling is different in its application and intent. Very fine, sterile needles are gently inserted into specific areas of muscle tissue to stimulate a healing response. This encourages blood flow, reduces inflammation, and helps to release tight or overactive areas known as trigger points (muscle knots).

Dry needling is especially useful when certain conditions don’t respond as effectively to soft tissue massage alone. It can help ease stubborn muscular discomfort and improve mobility.

The treatment is generally not painful. You may experience a small twitch response, which is a normal and often beneficial reaction that shows the muscle is beginning to relax. Temporary redness and a feeling of release are also common effects.

We use dry needling safely and carefully, always tailored to your needs and comfort levels. If you're considering acupuncture in Cirencester but would like to explore whether dry needling is more suitable, we’re happy to advise.

Shoulder Treatment

As a fellow osteopath I can't recommend Niall enough. He is very knowledgeable in anatomy and will always tailor his treatment plans to match his patients needs. I receive treatment from Niall regularly as I always does me good. I'd highly recommend you consider him if you have any aches or pains.
